I’m a simple commodity trader, have been for 20 years. Nothing special. I’ve spent some time in London and New York but sometimes I feel Italian.
I collect everything a man can collect: lighters, pens, bags, watches.

I think we just have to be good humans. Nothing more. But I see that this is the hardest thing in life.

Expensive brands like Loro Piana or Zegna are just a code.
If something is expensive, it doesn’t mean it’s good. It also doesn’t mean it’s comfortable or high quality. It’s just a code — a language. Something other people recognize. They see you speak their language.
Today, everything is somehow lost. You see men wearing Loro Piana Summer Walks, but they don’t even know what a proper shirt is. They’ve never bought one. They think those shoes make them look rich. But that’s not true.
It’s not the shoe or the brand. It’s the man.

Fortela — Alessandro is a very good friend of mine, and I know how much effort and passion he puts into every single piece he produces.
I like Uniqlo. I love Aspesi — maybe the best military jacket on the market. Ralph Lauren, Zegna.
Loro Piana? I think they’ll need time to come back.
They transformed a cashmere company into a shoe company, then into a bag company, and now into a furniture company.

– A white shirt
– Blue and white denim
– A good lighter
– A good belt
– And a good watch
